Earl of Zetland Lodge, No. 231 in the Grand Lodge of SA and NT, was consecrated in 1991. The venue was the historic Earl of Zetland Hotel, then situated on the corner of Gawler Place and Flinders Street, Adelaide. The lodge was established by its founding members as a lodge for those who, on finishing work for the day, wanted to attend a meeting of their lodge and enjoy the company of their fellow brethren over dinner and a good wine.
Following demolition of the hotel, meetings were held for a number of years at the Public Schools Club on East Terrace.
A subsequent growth in membership saw the Lodge move to its current venue
at the Naval, Military and Air Force Club (pictured) on the corner of
Hutt and Wakefield Streets in the city.

As a dining lodge, Earl of Zetland meets five times per
year. Lodge dress is lounge suit with lodge tie.
A dinner, with wives, partners and friends is held on the second Monday in December.
The Lodge prides itself on its quality of ritual, the
lack of unnecessary formality at its festive boards (including over long
speeches) and, in general, aims for a “good night out.”
Regular visits are undertaken in support of its Twinning
Lodge, Lodge Penola No. 181, situated in the famous
Coonawarra wine growing region in the south-east
of the State of South Australia.
An active social committee organises events
throughout the Masonic year, e.g. Friday lunches,
winery visits, malt whiskey tastings.
